The bear story is a well animated short film about a Chilean man who has been operated from his family. The film takes the audience through the grown bears journey and depicts what life was like in a real form, yet appropriate for all ages. This relates to Chile's history as is shows much brutality of the animals just like the brutality of the people of Chile fighting for their beliefs. There was brutality in the film as the bear was forced to work in the circus and was caged up and pushed around like he was nothing. Many individuals in Chile felt similar to this according to previous videos I watched, as they were under the rule of Allende. Here is where they felt they had little say or freedom in their life and often were unhappy. Many animations within the film also showed the bear getting beaten if he was not doing exactly what was required of him which again shows brutality of the government in Chile.
I personally really liked this video and I think that it did a great job showing Chile during time of hardships and heartbreaks. It showed that people went through a lot to get where they are today and although they struggle they continue on with their lives. Chileans hope for better and strive for happiness and freedom in the end. Even with no words I found this film to be entertaining and very effective in portraying Chile as a whole. I think the fact that it did not have words actually made the film have more of a meaningful touch and made me really pay attention to the details of the film rather than rely on the words characters would have said. Overall, I think this film was beautifully made and was a very unique way to present information and a story.

This was my favorite of the two films that we watched. I appreciated the message behind that and how they structured it so people of all ages could watch this and interpret it on several different levels.
